Manisha is the Hindugoddess of the mind. It is also commonly used as a name for girls esp. in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka the countries where Hinduism is a major religion. Manisha is a complex name with several layers of meaning. Popularly, it symbolizesintelligence and desire. In Hinduism, Manisha is also one of the 108 names for Devi, the Hindu goddess who embodies the feminine principle of the Universe. The name Manisha glorifies the Goddess' sharp intellect, genius, and sagacity.
In Sanskrit it also refers to the sublime state to which ancient sages aspired to reach. The concept is similar to Christianity's "where your mind is, there your heart will be also."
Alternately, some scholars hold that the name derives from Muni (term for revered ancient Indian sages) and Isha (the essence of the ultimate reward or the nirvana that sages meditate for forsaking all material and worldly wants). Put together means "that which the heart most deeply desires."
Another meaning of Manisha is daughter of mankind. In Hinduism, Manu was the first male created by God and a pious king. Manisha, derived from Manu, means a daughter that belongs to all mankind. Manisha has shown her love and peace to everyone. She has a strong feeling for Bad Meets Evil.
I just came across this quote and it couldn't be more perfect. This is totally my mindset...
So stop thinking and stressing so much about the future, we are not there yet, start living for the present and you will feel a sense of improvement/fullfillment. Take it one day at a time because tomorrow is NEVER promised.
I had my first cottage experience this week for summer 2012. We stayed in Flesherton at the Cedars Lake of Eugenia and it was just perfect. The chalet was right off the lake and was very clean - bedrooms and bathroom was immaculate for cottage country standards. The drive up was a little over an hour and 15 minutes which was perfect.
The days were spent BBQing (yum) and consuming lots of wine (yum again). And no there was no drunkenness or a sloppy mess involved. Kayaking, fishing, paddle boating, and an intense game of ping pong, Foosball and monopoly (xmen edition). To which I dominated in 2/3. I can be very, almost overly competitive because winning is so much more cooler than losing and the self gratification is absolutely worth it.
I also spent my time, sitting on a chair, taking in some sun in my trendy pink leopard pj pants at the shore of the lake reading 50 Shades of Grey on my Blackberry Playbook. Sitting there, listening to the sounds of nature submerged in the book - so much peace and tranquility. Oh, life was perfect at that very moment.
To end the nights, I sat out around the bonfire taking in the raw heat, watching the moon dip into the lake with the clear skies filled with billions of stars.
It was a quiet, fun, but mostly relaxing weekend!!
I would definitely revisit this cottage site.
Check out some of the gorgeous pictures I was able to capture with my Blackberry.
I've managed to finish the first book, 50 Shades of Grey within a week and have now began reading the second book, 50 Shades Darker. When I began reading this book, I had no idea what I was in for - but I was open-minded. I did not even know what the book was about - for all I knew "grey" was a color and not a person.
I have to admit, this book is really addicting and the descriptive words the author uses, really gives you an intense mental image (you have to read the book to understand that statement). I myself, along with Ana Steele have fallen for Christian Grey. If men were only this perfect, obviously less the Red Room of Pain (haha).
For all you ladies out there, who like to read, this is definitely a good one. And even if you do not like to read, you sure will after this book!
After a relaxing fun filled weekend at the cottage, I have grown to love fire pits. Spending the cooled down night sitting around a bon fire watching the moon dip lower into the horizon with super stary skies and a drink in hand. Sitting in a tank top and a pair of shorts, the heat the fire generates is so soothing on my skin. I was so close to the fire, trying to absorb as much of the raw heat as possible - that if I had an hair on my legs, it probably would have burnt off.
Now, I am going to mention purchasing a fire pit to my parents so we can bon fire EVERY night in the convenience of our very own home, and hope they consider it.
The only down side of outside fires is that the smell of burning wood absorbs into your clothes, skin and especially your hair. A shower is mandatory after any fire.
I literally sat outside, until each and every piece of wood was burnt to glowing balls of coal and eventually flaked into ashes.
I have recently been hearing a lot about "vajazzling" - applying crystals to your vajayjay - so I decided to do some further research into what it actually is all about it.
I found the article below and established that this will tell you everything you need to know about this odd but popular trend.
Vajazzling is definitely one of the new beauty trends.
Well if tattooing something “down there” didn't shock you, neither will this: vajazzling- a new beauty trend which seems to be capturing everyone's attention as it is definitely something new and which allows women to glam-up their private parts.
Vajazzling is a procedure through which your pubic are is decorated with crystals, to be more specific, swarovski crystals, which are glued on the skin after obviously getting a Brazilian wax.
A Brazilian wax will remove all your pubic hair, giving you a bare look, which can be a perfect area for decorating. The crystals come if a variety of designs so you can opt for vajazzle your private part with the design which you prefer such as butterflies, fairies, stars, you name it.
The procedure is not painful (except for the Brazilian waxing) the crystals will be applied on the pubic area, the part of the skin which doesn't irritate as easy. The are of application is disinfected and the crystals are applied on the skin in the desired shape using a skin safe glue, which however will only give permanent results. A vajazzle only lasts between a couple of days and a week, the glue used allowing the crystals to be easily removable.
The vajazzling beauty trend is meant to help you decorate your body, to give it a little bit of spice, such as sexy underwear would do. The vajazzle will not be visible unless you want to show it and apply the crystals over the bikini line.
The tiny stones are becoming highly popular among women who want to give this a try or who want to surprise their partner so if you think of giving vajazzling a try ask at your cosmetic salon and prepare for a glittery beauty treatment!
Even celebrities such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, the Kardashians and Snooki gave vajazzling a try so go ahead and try it yourself but keep in mind that this doesn't come cheap!
Please see below a brief video of the vajazzling process.
There has been so much hype, publicity and great reviews about the novel 50 shades of grey trilogy. I have officially began reading the 1st book: 50 Shades of Grey and look forward to getting through all these novels in a timely manner.
Is anyone else currently reading this book? or has reviews?
It was so sad to watch the forever last episode of House MD on Monday, May 21st, 2012. I was filled with so many different emotions. Being devastated and in tears because I thought they had killed House for the finale episode along with anger and disappointment.
Overall, it was a great ending to an awesome series.
I can not even begin to express how much I will sincerly miss this TV show.
Being born and raised in Canada, visiting Niagara Falls tonnes of times I have never actually been on the Maid of the Mist. With my cousin persistent to hop aboard, it gave me many reasons to set sail with her. What is really sad, is that my cousin from London, England was educating me on the fact that there is a falls on the NY side and a different set of falls on the Canadian side. (like how did I not know that?.. lol) Any who, the Canadian Falls is way nicer than the American Falls.
The boat takes you, smack in the middle of the Canadian Falls. Being so close to the water, the view is gorgeous and you can almost touch the rainbow. As you will see (the picture below) I strapped up in my plastic raincoat really securely to avoid getting wet. The mist in combination with the wind really blows water around leaving it inevitable to get wet. However, if you bundle up like us, the water did not stand a chance. I also think that they should provide you with goggles, for if you are not wearing sunglasses be prepared to be constantly removing water from your face.
All in all, it was quite an awesome experience and I would absolutely ride the Maid of the Mist again.
With my family from England being over this past week, I absolutely let my good eating habits fail. Shockingly, I only managed to put on about 3lbs from my trip to Cuba and from my family being over in the time span of 3 weeks.
In Cuba, I was consuming liquor like it was water and not consuming any water for the fear of getting sick. For breakfast, lunch and dinner I consumed only meat and carbohydrates because nothing else appealed. Pasta, rice, potatoes and hamburgers were my meals of choice for 7 days consecutive.
With my family being over for a week, we consumed Pizza Pizza x2, lots of Eggo Waffles & sausages, all you can eat sushi at Akita, Demetres at 11:30pm where I polished my gigantic crepe with ice cream and whip cream, Baskin Robins cotton candy ice cream, Bourbon Chicken, BBQ, beer and french fries, Krispy Kreme donuts and god knows what else I am forgetting. I am surprised I haven't yet encountered a heart attack from a clogged artery.
I got to admit, I enjoyed every meal however, it did make me feel slow, sluggish and useless moments after. I also felt guilty but justified each and individual bite.
Any who, back to my daily grind and ritual tomorrow. Need to get back into shape asap after over indulging with no limits!!
Last night I went to Planet Bowl with the family. On the drive to the bowling alley everyone claimed how much they sucked at bowling. Sadly it turned out that I was the only honest one - you can call me the gutter ball queen.
What I learned: when bowling properly, use a 9lb ball & when granny bowling use a 12-13lb ball. I find that a heavier ball tends to go straightforward more so than a lighter ball.
My lousy bowling skills have led me to believe that I need to enroll in some sort of bowling training. Apparently certain people do not appreciate my granny bowling abilities for the sole reason that the full moon comes out. (refer to picture below)
My cousins are here from England and my work week has officially ended as of yesterday. Yay! And with Victoria Day falling on this coming Monday, that extends my holidays furthermore. I get to spend the rest of the week doing fun things like shopping, bowling, eating, visiting the CN Tower, Niagara Falls & simply doing touristy things. What makes this whole experience better is that The Weather Network has forecasted a pretty bomb schedule for the remainder of the week.
I find that because I live in Toronto, I underestimate the activities and things Toronto has to offer. I honestly cannot remember the last time I visited the CN TOWER and could probably tell you nothing about the experience. And for that particular reason I'm glad to be able to experience it and remember it again.
I was also originally not fond of the English accent however, having to listen to it all day I think it has kind of grown on me. The British say the word ”garage” very oddly, I was actually confused as hell upon hearing their pronunciation. It sounds like this ”gae-rage”. Like I didn't even know that garage was a type of music genre. The beats are pretty awesome and the remixes are even better.
Any who I have been nominated to make breakfast this morning even though everyone knows that I do not cook but I am totally up for the challenge.
If you haven't read my post on Twirly, Curly magic wand then you don't know about the new curling wand I am obsessed with. It provides such great results and the best thing about it, is that you do not have to be an expert at curling hair (because I suck).
Last week as I was curling my hair in my bathroom, I attempted to multi-task by curling my hair and checking the traffic app on my blackberry simultaneously. Obviously, I was unsuccessful in doing so and thus suffered some painful consequences. The curling iron was about to drop and because I had my blackberry in my other hand, I attempted to catch it with my other hand (which I did) however, pressed it on my chest. The burning sensation was brutal and I had immediately figured I did some serious damage to my nicely tanned skin. Whomp whomp.
This is definitely a 2nd degree burn and has formed a lovely blister. The barrel was probably heated up to at least 210 degrees C (ouch!). A co-worker has informed me that from here on forward I should be wearing a turtle neck sweater when curling my hair. I think I am temporarily just going to lay off the curls. Luckily, the burn mark is low enough on my left boob, making it not visible when dressed however, I have to lay off deep plunged tops or v-necks in the meanwhile.
Even after the burn, I really did not even care that I got burned because my main concern was the scarring. I absolutely hate any type of scars - they are just plain ugly.
Currently, I am continuously applying Polysporin complete with 3 antibiotics, scarring minimizing and enriched with vitamin e. After speaking to many people about scar remedies, I have began applying honey to the blister nightly and am currently awaiting for it to pop (gross, I know) or dry out.
You can read on how to treat 1st degree, 2nd degree and 3rd degree burns here.
After almost a year of comtemplating and justifying spending almost a grand on a handbag, I have decided that I will be purchasing the Damier Azur Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 top handle handbag. YAY! I look forward to charging my card and spending this summer with my soon to be new favorite accessory.
When you are driving and see a dead racoon, squirrel, rabbit, skunk, possum or deer on the road gutted by multiple cars continously running over them, you understand how and why this could have happened. Poor little creatures, they really should not be attempting to cross the street.
This is not usual however, on the odd occasion I do see pigeon or sea gull road kills. I do not understand how this happens. Birds are fairly smart when it comes to anything approaching them, and it's not like you see them sitting on the roads hanging out as vehicles drive by. Do they end up as road kill because:
1) they were flying and had a heart attack, so they fall from the sky onto the road and then people run them over postmorterm
2) the obvious reason, they landed on the road and got run over?
I am actually very curious to know the answer.
If anyone can enlighten me, that would be a pleasure.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there, you deserve today. As a matter of fact you deserve more than today, but especially today being that it is actually Mother's Day.
Thinking about it, I do not show my mother enough love and appreciation although I always think about it and would do anything for her. She is the world's best mom who has sacrificed a lot for my siblings and I.
I am 25 years old and here is a mini list of things my mom still does for me, please do not get it wrong, I am capable of doing all of the below because she has trained me well but living at home it just gets done:
pack my lunch every morning
make my bed
do my laundry
cook hot meals everyday
she even woke up early on Mother's Day to make me lunch because I had to go to work on a Sunday
gave me the master bedroom at home
funds my unnecessary shopping habits (occasionally and within reason.. lol)
fulfills any on request demands x3
That's just some of the things she does on a daily basis. She loves us unconditionally. Ya, mother's can be crazy at times but it is always to better us, I guess we won't get it until we have little munchkins of our own.
I don't know if and how I will function if I ever lost her. I've already granted her permission to move in with me after I get married. hahaha.
This is a must have for anyone who goes on an all inclusive vacation and enjoys to binge drink while away. It's actually brilliant because it saves you from multiple trips to the bar. I am unsure to why they serve drinks in a dinky little plastic cup, like you can literally finish your drink in 2 gulps. Check out this awesome cup I purchased from a local beach walker. What makes this particular mug extra special is that it has a straw hole and a lid so no bugs or sand grains can sneak into your drunk. Pure genius!
When its dark, gloomy and rainy outside I like to lay in bed with a cup of warm tea in my pjs cuddled up in a blanket while watching a movie. I hate being out when it's rainy - especially how the bottom of your pants get wet or how your suede shoes get ruined. I guess its time to invest in some rain boots. The worst part about rain, is driving conditions. For the life of me I am unable to see the lanes due to the glare from the water and light. It just puts me in a blah mood...
So I finally watched The Avenger's tonight and I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED it! Tony Stark aka Iron Man never fails to entertain with his witty and charming personality. The Hulk, an indestructible big green machine - what's there not to like about his anger and those guns on his arms. And my all time favorite prince charming... Thor, with his beautiful dreamy blue eyes, long blonde hair and Asgardian accent I can almost not resist. Yum! A team of conflicting heroes who come together to battle Loki and those weird looking creatures. Action packed and fun filled with laughter.
The movie is 2 hours and 22 minutes long with not a dull moment. If you are or even if you are not and have seen Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America this is a must see movie - highly recommend it. Total bad ass movie.
Oh how I miss just laying on the beach, kicking back, soaking up the sun
while reading a novel.. being able to walk into the ocean for a
refresher when it got too hot. Clear blue beautiful salty water.
The world's largest cat, Meow, who weighed a whopping 39lbs has recently died of lung cancer. I am personally not a fan of cats but simply by looking at Meow's photo, who can not fall in love with this big fat fur ball of cuteness?

There is something about palm trees that really give me a sense of serenity. Sun, white sand, palm trees and blue water is my place of haven. These tall lanky trees that grow coconuts (yummy jelly & juice) and whose branches/leaves you can use to make a hut or a home. You can actually fully utilize every part of the palm tree.
Once you view the pictures below you will see that there is a palm tree that has fallen however, it continued to grow sideways so close to the ground. It is actually amazing to see how this tree's roots stay firmly intact in the ground and hold foundation for this tree to continually stretch and grow.
Does anybody else appreciate palm tree's the way I do? I wish I could have one in our backyard.
