My Current Seed Addiction

I binge eat sunflower seeds like I am going to die of starvation. My co-workers think that I am going to turn into a bird and fly away. The picture attached is that of all the seeds I consumed within a 15minute time frame. It sometimes delays my working ability because I cannot stop to take a breath and want to continue cracking and popping. Jeez!

What can I say?

I love sunflower seeds.

Krista Ford’s advice after sex assaults news conference: ‘Don’t dress like a whore’

An hour after police held a news conference to warn women about a series of sex assaults in two Toronto neighbourhoods, Krista Ford, daughter of Councillor Doug Ford, offered her own advice.

“Stay alert, walk tall, carry mace, take self-defence classes & don’t dress like a whore,” Krista Ford, niece of Mayor Rob Ford, wrote on Twitter just after 6 p.m., adding “#DontBeAVictim” and “#StreetSmart.”

Mace is considered a prohibited and restricted weapon, according to the Toronto police sex crimes unit.

Krista Ford, who describes herself on her Twitter account as a personal trainer, promotional model and TV personality, is a former player for Toronto Triumph, part of the U.S.-based Lingerie Football League. She quit the team last October.

She did not reply to a request for comment Wednesday evening.

Last year, a Toronto cop was lambasted for saying that “women should avoid dressing like sluts not to be victimized” during a speech. The comments launched “SlutWalk,” a series of marches in cities around the world protesting comments about women’s dress or appearance being linked to sexual assault. The officer later apologized.

Like what was she thinking by making such a bold statement "don't dress like a whore"? Sexual predators don't only attack women who are supposedly "dressed like whores" although they do attract the wrong type of men. That portion of her tweet was totally unnecessary especially since she was apart of the Toronto Triumph Lingerie Football League.

What do you think?

I Love Nail Polish

Ever since I stopped getting my nails did, I am currently in the process of growing my real nail backs. I have experimented with many different brands of nail polish and I found that Love & Beauty by Forever21 is the best. The polish remains on my nails for AT LEAST 2 weeks without chipping (keeping that you put a clear coat on) & the best part of it all is that it is only $3.80. Woo HOoooo... give it a try!

Shamballa Bracelet

Just ordered this Shamballa bracelet and I am now super excited to receive it in the mail. Another pretty and shiny arm candy piece to add to my collection.

Inspired by meditation and Buddhist history, Shamballa bracelets are more than favorable fashion items. In fact, today’s hip hop celebrities, who have driven their fans to the accessory trend, wear their Shamballa bracelets for purposes beyond fashion, as they are believed to support peace, tranquility and happiness. While the accessory has kept its spiritual meaning, its traditional design has somewhat changed. Originally sporting a nylon or waxed linen string embellished by hematite and metal beads, current styles favored by celebrities and their fans now include gemstones, disco bead balls and diamonds.

Pretty Little Liars

With most of my favorite television shows ending their series this season and the rest on hiatus for the summer, I have been obsessing over Pretty Little Liars.

I randomly watched an episode one Sunday evening and have been hooked ever since. It is like a teeny boppers version of Desperate Housewives.

The level of suspense is just wild and it definitely keeps you fully engaged, wanting more - the mystery around who "A" is, is almost overwhelming.

I also like the fact that they incorporate so many aspects of life, like: bullying, homosexuality, friendships, trust, divorce, step siblings, adultery, lies, secrets, bonds, beauty, fashion, etc.

I managed to get through all 3 seasons, with each episode being 45minutes within 2 weeks. Yup! Talk about having no life. When I get consumed in something, like a tv show or a book I go M.I.A until I am up-to-date - kind of like a bear in hibernation.

Now although, that I am all caught up and with the summer season finale being next week, after we learn that there are 2 "A"s (ahhhhh!).

I have also started reading the Pretty Little Liars series. Book 1 of 11 with the 12th one coming out this December 2012.

Exciting!!!

Useful Health Warning!

It's so good to finally get a health warning that is useful!!!

INVOLVES THE SHAMPOO WHEN IT RUNS DOWN YOUR BODY WHEN YOU SHOWER WITH IT

WARNING TO US ALL!!!

Shampoo Warning!
I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out sooner!
I use shampoo in the shower!
When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, and printed very
clearly on the shampoo label is this warning,
"FOR EXTRA BODY AND VOLUME."No wonder I have been gaining weight!
Well! I got rid of that shampoo and I am going to start showering
with Dawn dishwashing soap instead. Its label reads,
"DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."Problem solved!
If I don't answer the phone I'll be in the shower!

Cake Making Fun

I am not a woman you will find in the kitchen however, I assisted my girlfriend in baking a cake for our girlfriend's birthday. I was very fascinated with the process of layering, making your own fondant, cutting, shaping, trimming, rolling, kneading, stacking, etc. It was a 2 day process in which I probably consumed way too much icing (oops). Anyhow, it was a great learning experience.

See pictures below:

You know you're getting older when...

Twilight Saga

I have heard nothing but good things about the Twilight Series. I have watched all the movies and enjoyed them but could not understand why some people hated the movie so much. After getting through all 4 books within a weeks time (yes, I enjoyed it that much) - I understood. I was over indulged in these books to a point where I was dreaming vampires and werewolves.

The movies do not do these books even the slightest justice. I have to admit that I enjoyed this series more than the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy. I was able to create this whole new fantasy world in my mind while reading, losing countless hours of sleep every night because that 1 more chapter before I went to bed never came. Even after completing the series and disliking the movies because of the lack of material (obviously and hopefully due to time restraint) I still look forward to the last movie - Breaking Dawn pt.2. It was definitely a fabulous read.

PS - I love werewolves. :)

Why do we cheat?

I came across this article and was very intrigued... I have to admit that all these reasons are valid causes to why people cheat, it just gives you a better perspective.
"But all the tech tools in the world can’t make a person cheat; it’s a choice. When asked why they're unfaithful, men and women usually have different excuses, er, reasons.

Here’s what the experts say:

Reason #1: She ain’t what she used to be.Like Adam, the typical man can’t resist the temptation of riper fruit, especially if the woman in his life has let herself go.
“If she got physically lazy or gained weight or just doesn’t take care of herself, a guy will start looking at other women,” says Steve Santagati, author of
The Manual: A True Bad Boy Explains How Men Think, Date and Mate – and What Women Can Do to Come Out on Top (Crown).
Women who keep their men on a short leash need to take a “good, hard look in the mirror,” he adds.
Men should do the same. He might be a complete slob and still demand perfection from her.
“It’s the typical double standard,” Santagati says.
For their part, guys should try to rediscover the spark at home.
“Make her feel pretty, even if you’re lying,” he advises. “Tell her how beautiful she is and how much you appreciate it. It will make her feel sexy, and she’ll want to make you happy.”

Reason #2: Familiarity has bred indifference. What’s the most common excuse Dr. Nancy hears from women?
They feel taken for granted. Their guys will discuss the kids, bills and house repairs, but they haven’t really talked in a while.
To women, that failure to communicate translates to less intimacy and emotional and relationship satisfaction, says family and marriage therapist Terri Orbuch, host of Detroit’s Love Doctor TV and radio programs.
“When you’re unhappy or dissatisfied in your relationship, you’re more likely to be tempted to look elsewhere,” Orbuch says.
And, she adds, you begin to perceive opportunities – the cute co-worker, the flirty dad at the playground.
When a woman feels like little more than a household drudge, attention from someone else is extremely seductive.

Reason #3: No one loves a ball buster.Perhaps nothing will drive a married man into the arms of another woman faster than a nagging wife.
“She’s like a mosquito,” Santagati says. “He doesn’t want to have sex with her; he wants to swat her away.” And go running for hot sex with a more “understanding” woman.

Reason #4: You’re leading parallel lives. You used to travel the same path, but lately your interests have diverged.
Your guy wants to shoot pool with his buddies or watch football in his free time; you’d rather go to festivals or watch The Bachelorette.
When you start doing things separately, you’re more likely to meet others who share your interests.
Soon you may have more in common with that guy in your photography class than your significant other.

Reason #5: Blame it on wanderlust.Often, married men who cheat can’t explain why.
They just feel compelled to bust out of their daily routine.
It’s a primitive instinct that dates back to their role as hunter – only this time, they’re hunting women.
“Maybe he got married too young,” Santagati says. “Or he just feels as if he hasn’t seen everything.”
Women can get wise to this behavior early in a relationship.
Watch how he acts in a room full of gorgeous women, Santagati suggests.
If you can’t rein him in when your romance is new, you’ll never control him.
For longtime couples, it doesn’t take much to snap a man out of the doldrums.

Reason #6: The passion has fizzled.Even happy marriages – healthy kids, steady finances, faraway in-laws – can breed discontent.
Despite the security a wife feels, “she’s bored and needs some excitement,” Dr. Nancy says.
Once the romance fades, your guy may not be the man you fell in love with. Instead, he’s a mass of habits that get under your skin. Perhaps you never knew him to begin with or hoped he would change.
Either can lead to infidelity, says Stephany Alexander, online dating expert and founder of
WomanSavers.com.
A casual affair may put some zing back in your days.
“It’s something new, different and exciting,” Alexander says. “When a woman’s Prince Charming turns out to be a frog, women often cheat in hopes of finding a new prince.”

Reason #7: It’s biology, baby.Women may scoff at this theory, but the male urge to get into someone else’s jeans could be in their genes.
“It’s our biological nature to be with as many females as possible,” Santagati says.
Science backs this up.
A study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed that men with a particular gene are less likely to bond with their partner, opening the door to infidelity.
Santagati, however, has a simpler explanation.
“Once we’ve seen a woman naked several times, it becomes commonplace.
We want to experience something different – different lips and body types.
“We’re only monogamous because we realize that love and friendship are more important than getting laid,” he says.

Reason #8: Your ego needs a boost. You can be in a relationship with a perfectly wonderful, loving man and still need extra affirmation that you’ve still got it.
“For whatever reason, that reassuring partner isn’t enough,” Orbuch says. “You look elsewhere, so you can feel like you’re lovable.”

Reason #9: It’s just sex.For most guys, sex and love are different things.
“We really believe, ‘I can still love my wife and want to have sex with other women,’” Santagati says.
That rationale allows guys to cheat guilt-free. If there is guilt, it may not be about the sex but the consequences. Will she kiss and tell? Will the wife find out?
Not sure where the lines of infidelity are drawn? Check out
Chaste or Cheating?
Thinking of cheating on your wife? Santagati has one recommendation.
“Consider the worst-case scenario: Your wife finds out and is brokenhearted,” he says. “Ask yourself, is it worth it?”
Reason #10: It’s payback time. When a woman catches her man with his hand in someone else’s cookie jar, she figures she has a right to revenge.
“If a woman finds out her significant other has been cheating, she may try to heal those hurt feelings by having sex with another man,” Alexander says.

My Very 1st Wax Machine

Thank the lord that I was not born an excessively hairy person however, hair is still present. Whomp Whomp. Professional waxing costs add up quickly ever since I completely retired my razor (no exceptions). So... I decided to buy a waxing machine and attempted to do an at home spa. Instead of buying wax strips, I cut up a pair of my dads old denims and they worked magnificently. Also, I am grateful that I have a sister to sometimes assist me on those odd places (back of my leg) where it is difficult for me to do myself. It is very convenient, easy and accessible - no more having to worry about the salon being open, or waiting in line, or the best part of all.... paying. Baby oil and baby powder are also my new companions when waxing.

People who love to eat...

This says it all!! <3

Pandora Charm Bracelet

For years now, I have been satisfying my dirty Tiffany & Co. addiction. Spending thousands of dollars on jewellery but, I have now come across Pandora and decided that I want to own a charm bracelet. Originally, I would have just purchased a Tiffany's bracelet, however, I anticipate being annoyed by too many dangling charms. I would like to compensate my right wrist, for it is so bare and naked with a simple yet meaningful ongoing charm bracelet. I also love, how every charm can tell a story...

Brown Girl Problems

If you have not already read my I Love Curry post then you now know that I am a curry eating/loving monster. A problem that I frequently suffer from is having curry stained nails after a meal. My mom usually peels the shells off the shrimps for me and cooks boneless meat curry (yes, I know I am partially spoiled). For at least 3 years now, I have not seen my real nails - I have had fake gel nails on forever so I randomly decided to finally cut them off. I got to admit, it is extremely weird having such short natural nails however my typing ability has drastically increased.

Back to the point... After removing my fake nails, I decided to paint my nails yellow. The next day I indulged in goat curry - full out messy hands, bones and all (this was because I was having dinner at my cousins). After I washed my hands, I realized that your nails cannot get curry stained when they are painted yellow. It was AMAZING!!!!!
