Horseback Riding

26 years of life & I finally get to experience riding a horse. Personally, I believe I should have already rode a horse as a child and that I fell behind in the good wonders of life.

Where: Horseplay Niagara, Wainfleet

Riding a horse seems like a piece of cake & I was super excited when we arrived however, when the instructors began saddling people up I became anxiously nervous. These 1200-2000lb horses all of a sudden seemed like horrifying deadly animals. I was actually really nervous because we were second to last to be chosen to get on the horses next to the children (loaded by biggest to smallest - biggest horse goes to the biggest person). Most of the adults before us seemed to struggle in throwing their leg over the horse once up on the stepping stool. In reality, it was quiet simple.

My horses name was Skittle and she was most definitely over active. When I initially got on her she turned her head, looked back at me and then crushed my right leg into the fence. Nothing unbearable but why was she the only horse moving at this moment? Also, when I pulled back on the lead rope to get her to stop walking, after she stopped she would yank her head forward pulling and jerking me forward. Talk about attitude problems. My girlfriends horse on the other hand was over taking other horses - no patience, and pooping too frequently as we rode, his name was Ronnie.
What I learned: horses raise their tails when taking a poop and lower it upon finishing. Haha, great findings huh?

The 1 hour horse trek was quite enjoyable as all the horses were well behaved - like school children in a single file. Riding along a narrow trail with surroundings of only nature, kind of peaceful. Although at times my girlfriend and I were verbally re-enacting scenes from The Walking Dead (severe addicts) while on the horses.

What I disliked is... when the horses started galloping my entire body literally got thrown in the air and then you got to love gravity to slam you right back onto the saddle - now imagine feeling this every 5 seconds? Ouchies! People on TV make horse riding seem so easy, painless and almost mesmerizing. The rain evidently didn't assist in making this experience as wonderful as it could have been, seeing that we were frozen and wet by the end of the ride.

Would I do it again? Absolutely, well as long as the horse minimally gallops.

Thanks Tania for this experience!

Many Faces on Halloween

This by far has been the most fun and interesting Halloween I have ever celebrated. I always knew I enjoyed dressing up but this year I was privileged enough to wear 3 different costumes at 3 different events.

My first costume was supposed to be a gingerbread girl but my girlfriend somehow managed to inspire me into turning the costume into a candy crush girl. If you know me, then you know my obsessive addiction to the game. I play it on my iPhone, then my iPad & occasionally on Facebook. All three mediums give you a full set of 5 lives (I love how the lives are not synced amongst devices).
My favorite part of this ensemble was painting my nails different colors and painting stripes on a single nail (in the game you have to combine 4 of the same colored candies to formulate this special super striped candy). Also, locating an over-sized lollipop was a lot harder than I thought it would be - I still have not consumed it. I wore this costume to a condo party.

The next costume I wore was probably my favorite and this is because it was so extravagant.. tiara and all. I actually felt like a queen in the costume. This costume was lent to me for our company's costume contest we had on Halloween day. Wearing this costume gave me a slight vision of how people used to dress back in the days. The costume was lightweight and although I would say I am usually cold at work, I was sweating buckets. I can only imagine how the ladies back in the day felt wearing such attire all day, everyday.
My favorite part of this ensemble was everything!! #royalty

Lastly, little red riding hood goes out for a nice dinner & to enjoy some music on Halloween night. This last minute plan with the girlfriends was an interesting & random night. People watching while sober... Uhmm ya! I enjoyed wearing this bold red lip stain to complete the outfit. The hooded cape was constantly being put on and off for the sake of pictures which was a tad bit annoying. Overall, always a great night with awesome company.

Until next year... :)

Movember iPhone Case

"Movember - a clash of moustache and November,  is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancers and associated charities. The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health."
By encouraging men (which the charity refers to as "Mo Bros") to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides getting an annual check-up, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of any family history of cancer, and to adopt a healthier lifestyle."

Movember has personally &
definitely brought awareness to myself and in support, along with donations I have purchased this fun and cute iPhone case.

Wisdom Teeth Removal Has Ruined My Smile

If you read my previous post on my wisdom teeth extraction you will know that my experience and healing time was very short lived (thank goodness). But now here is the dreadful aftermath....

I got my wisdom teeth removed in late December 2012 and in late February 2013 I had noticed there was a tiny gap in my teeth (the 2nd tooth next to my front one). When I looked in the mirror I was mortified and panicked. For anyone who previously had braces will understand how I felt. Having perfectly straight teeth for almost 10 years and then suddenly seeing your teeth randomly spread? Yikes!

It turns out that the new space that was created when my wisdom teeth were yanked out are allowing my top teeth is spread back. I had the permanent retainers put on, on the bottom teeth but because of my bite, I was unable to get them on the top. And, obviously I did not continue wearing my retainers post braces removal.

When I went to the dentist and explained my life altering dilemma he assured me it was nothing a set of spring retainers couldn't fix. I wore these every night, religiously and was even wearing them to work and in the day time for the first couple of weeks. I went back to the dentist about a month ago and got them tightened because I didn't feel pain anymore. No pain, no game. Right? I have definitely grown to love my retainers.

Now I'm waiting a couple of more months to ensure that the tiny space gets filled. Maybe I'll get a set of metal armour for my mouth again (braces), although the dentist doesn't recommend it because the roots of my teeth shortened with my first set of braces.

Electrocution

Yes, I'm a moron. I managed to pinch an open circuit that shot an electrical shock through my left arm stopping at my chest. This was quite a dreadful experience. Thank god I was able to release before the current travelled any further into my body.

To the left side is a picture of what I touched. Well actually it's under the 3 prong outlet. Yikes!

I was amused because it was just like they showed it on tv. You know, the cartoons where the caricature gets electrocuted and their entire body is shaking? LOL!

Pretty Little Liars - Hanna Marin's iPhone Case

As I finally watched the season finale episode of Pretty Little Liars last week (OMG, Allison is still alive), the ditsy Hanna Marin’s iPhone case caught my eyes. I searched the entire web for this case (because I love it and now want it) and I found that it retailed on most webpages for around $20-$35. I then thought, what about eBay? This is when I encountered a problem… I didn’t know how to describe the case in the search box. I then typed in hollow cut out case and voila there it was, it was actually called the “hollow-out bird nest mesh card cover case” and it was only $2.99; straight from Hong Kong with no shipping charges. Can you sense my excitement? Now, I only have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to arrive! J

What do you guys think of this case?

Cute Heart iphone 5 Case

I just had to share this adorable, cute and simple mint colored phone case I purchased from eBay. The color is simply perfect for Spring/Summer 2013 trend as pastels are a huge hit this year. The heart cut out around the camera lens and flash is adorable and the design surrounding the apple logo is also subtle but allows the case to market the iPhone brand.

The best part of it all, is....

I only paid $1.87CAD for it. It was shipped from Hong Kong and even the shipping was free of charge. Shockingly, it arrived within 2 weeks because shipments from Hong Kong usually take an excessive of 3-4 weeks.

Anyways, I know the weather is still gloomy but I've already began rocking my new, super fab phone case.

Daylight Savings - Spring Forward

It's that time of year again where you have to sacrifice that 1 whole hour of sleep for an extra hour of daylight. The darkness subsides as the weather becomes warmer. Don't forget to spring forward your clocks at 2am today.

Spring is near! ;)

Bare Minerals Makeup

Due to my crappy eating habits and my yo-yo dieting tendencies I have recently been binge eating a lot of junk food. Also, due to the Christmas holidays and being gifted an excess amount of white chocolates (my favorite) I have been a really bad girl, so bad that my face wanted to express it to the world. Womp womp!

I have never worn liquid foundation in my life and my concealer is only select coverage so obviously that was not going to do the trick to hide my pizza forehead. I also do not like to wear an excess amount of makeup so I needed to find something that would both, cover up and conceal with the most sheer look.

I ended up purchasing the Bare Minerals Starter Kit at Sephora and boy, was I amazed.

What I have on my face:
*Primer (Bare Minerals)
*Loose Powder Foundation (Bare Minerals)
*Concealer (Makeup Forever)
*Powder (MAC Studio Fix)

Parking Lot Hit & Run

Yup, sadly I was a victim to a parking lot hit and run. It's very tragic if you ask me because there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent it. I was parked right slab in the middle of a open parking lot, fairly close to a handicap spot and I even ensured that I was in-between the 2 lines, not over the front line and most importantly did not have my cars behind sticking out.

I understand that sometimes you get into minor fender benders or slightly scratch a car coming out of a parking lot or making a turn (yes, I've done it in my younger years but now I'm just a curb grazing queen). I find random scratches, nicks, paint transfer and especially door dings on my car all the time. People are ruthless, careless and simply just do not give a sh*t about other people's property (sad to say, but its true).

Back to my main story, so... yeah, some lady (god knows how she was driving or how fast she could have possibly been going in a small parking lot) rammed my passenger back bumper and caused some serious damage. When you see the picture below, it will be hard to believe that this damage was caused in a parking lot while my car was parked, quietly minding her own business. (I partially blame mother nature, if it was a snow day like they forecast this could all have been avoided).

To make matters even worst, she hit, destroyed and drove away like it wasn't her business. When I laid eyes on my poor car, I broke down into tears and called my mom and was hiccup crying - devastated. I have the worst of lucks with Black Honda Accords but I just can't give them up. If you know me, then you know that I have a strong emotional bond with my car. My driving is a bit on the crazy side but my friends trust me because they know that I will never let anything happen to my car (haha).

People, be courteous because karma sure as hell is. What if that was your car? If you intend on rear ending someones parked car in full force.. leave a note, apologize, own up! Purchasing a brand new OEM bumper, having it painted and labor cost can run you up to $800-$1,000 easily. Be safe, drive easy and consider parking lot 5-10km parking lot speed limit.

Needless to say, my back bumper is repaired and my car is back to normal - well mostly. On a frustrating note, she slammed my car so hard she bent the frame and re-bar slightly deforming the shape of my car. I now understand why you should not buy pre-owned vehicles that have been in accidents.

Happy Family Day!

Hope everyone is at home with their families spending some quality time together. Especially since it is freezing cold outside, why not be at home in the comfort of your blanket and a warm cup of tea?

P.S. The Tory Burch store at Yorkdale Mall is having a promotion - 25% off $400 spent and today is the last day. :)

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year 2013 - year of the serpent!

Ancient Chinese wisdom says a Snake in the house is a good omen because it means your family will not starve. This could be taken metaphorically to mean that a Snake could never have a problem with his family starving because he is such a great mediator, making him good at business. Or it could mean that a Snake would be willing to sacrifice his possessions, something the Snake has a lot of, in order to pay for his family’s food. Any way it is interpreted is representative of the Snake’s character and is a measure of the value he puts on his material wealth. The Snake is keen and cunning, quite intelligent and wise.

Julep Nail Polish

Rebecca had recommended me to sign up to this website called Julep. My reference code is 8187487 if any of you do decide to sign up. As you know, I am a nail polish junkie and appreciate quick drying, chip resistant cost efficient polish. Julep? What is Julep? It is nail polish that is made free of toxins and the color variety is outrageous.

I just placed my first order and was able to use a coupon code "COLOR2012" which made my total for 3 polishes 0.01 cents - amazing!!!! All I had to do was pay a one-time shipping fee of $3.99 and all orders placed thereafter are free of shipping charges. These nail polishes retail at Sephora for $17.50, which are way too pricey for nail polishes (well, at least I think so). But for 0.01 cents + $3.99 = $4 for 3 polishes, it is definitely worth the try.

Every month thereafter you can purchase a set for $19.99 or skip the month so your card does not get charged. I currently await the arrival of my first Julep package and will let you know my thoughts on the actual nail polish itself.

Tootles.

The Good Wife

I will begin by expressing how much I don't have any interest in politics. Not only do I not have any interest but I also don't have any knowledge because that is how much politics bores me.

I have a keen interest into our law and medicine but never actually pursued either or. I, however, still try to obtain as much knowledge possible to consistently be able to learn and understand. When I got my first traffic offence ticket (I tend to run red lights and not make full stops when making a right turn on a red light) and had to appear in court (I off course hired a paralegal) I sat there and had no idea what was going on. After the case was finished, my paralegal and I exited the court room to where I stood dumbfounded and asked him so what happened? He looked at me with a strange smile and said we won - haha! What a dummy I am. Its quite absurd, I feel as if they speak a whole different language in there.

Recently, I began watching The Good Wife. I occasionally saw it on television and would watch the random episode and I wondered how this legal TV show had anything to do with its name "the good wife". Once, I started, I was drawn in immediately - what a fabulous show. I can say I obtained a lot of legal knowledge watching this series and the story line never gets lame. It was a good substitute when Suits was on hiatus but now I think I am more intrigued with The Good Wife.  The Good Wife she really is, however her kids, especially Grace really annoys me and Mr. Big (aka Mr. Florrick) how I love him.

Tanda Zap Review

There was a good deal on TeamBuy for this contraption that is supposed to expedite the healing of those gorgeous pimples that ruin your life. Tanda Zap is a small device that fits easily into your purse and all you have to do is push a button to where a blue light will illuminate and the machine will start vibrating. You simply place this device over your pimple (ensure your face is without makeup and clean) until the vibration stops - each session lasts for about 2 whole minutes. Each Tanda Zap device is equipped to zap 1000 times and retails at $49.

PROS
*it assists in the pimple coming to a head (so if a normal pimple would take 1 week to come to a head, if you use the zapper, it can come to a head in 2-3 days - this is my experience with those stubborn pimples)
*does not dry out skin
*compact and easy to carry

CONS
*battery dies very quickly
*leaves temporary indents on your face from holding the device pressed against your face
*you have to use the zapper at least 3-4 times a day to see an kind of result

Overall, I am unsure to if I would repurchase this item. I get the random pimple here and there and sometimes I get more than 1 at a time (in where this device comes in handy).
Has anyone else tried this product? If so, what are your thoughts/reviews?

Makeup Forever Concealer

This is by far the best and fullest coverage concealer I've ever used. The consistency is a bit sticky (which means it lasts longer) and it is also waterproof. The only downside of this product is that it dries very quickly not allowing you to take the time to work with it - you have to be quick with the application.

I find that most concealers only provide select coverage. I also like the packaging of this concealer because it is waste proof. I mostly need it for the scarring I get from the occasional pimples because I do not have the will power to keep my hands off my face. It is also great for hiding the redness from fresh pimples. However, I would not recommend using this product under your eyes because it is to thick and will look cakey any not natural. Also, when the concealer is applied with a concealer brush the coverage is unreal.

Highly recommended. The colour that I use is # 10. You can purchase it at Sephora - it is a bit pricey at $32 but like they say, a little goes a long way.

Happy Republic Day, India!

In India, Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950. -Wikipedia
India achieved independence from British rule on 15 August 1947 following the Indian independence movement noted for largely peaceful nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience led by the Indian National Congress. The independence came through the Indian Independence Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c. 30), an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent Dominions of the British Commonwealth (later Commonwealth of Nations): India and Pakistan.[2] India obtained its independence on 15 August 1947 as a constitutional monarchy with George VI as head of state and the Earl Mountbatten as governor-general. The country, though, did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935. On 28 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Dr.B. R. Ambedkar as chairman. While India's Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution.
A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Assembly on 4 November 1947. The Assembly met, in sessions open to public, for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days before adopting the Constitution. After many deliberations and some modifications, the 308 members of the Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later, it came into effect throughout the nation.

Shoe Rack

With my endless boxes and mini shoe racks filled with shoes all around the house it has been difficult to locate the pair of shoes I want to wear that day. My dad is also fed up with me leaving my shoes in the front entrance of the house. By the end of the week, at least a minimum of 5 pairs have compiled - so he continues to throw them into random boxes and puts them in the garage, closet or basement.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a shoe rack that fits up to 50 pairs of shoes for $24.99 in the color pink from Beyond The Rack. When I received it, I severely struggled to put it together, to a point where I called the company and told them it was warped and I wanted to return it. It turns out that I was just physically incapable - Shocker! I then got my little brother to put it together and... VOILA!!! there it was, standing in front of me. It obviously was not a solid shoe rack (what can you possibly expect for $25) but it will suffice. I got almost more than half of my shoes on the rack and it let me see which colors I need to work on purchasing (haha).

Any who enough of my chattering. This is what the rack looks like... It is missing 2 shoes right now because the 2 pairs that I want to put in those empty spots - I can not conveniently find. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of my shoes? Wah!

Crazy Indian Dougie!!!

Hahaha! This video is a must see - hilarious. Gotta love my peeps and thier dance moves! Teach me how to dougie, teach me how to dougie, all my b*tches love me...OH YA! Enjoy! xo

P90X - Day 1

So after almost 7-8 months of wanting to start P90X and after owning it for almost 5-6 months, I finally grew some balls (and a gut) and began. My current physical level of activity and lifestyle is sedentary, which is so pathetic. I feel like my heart is slowing aging faster than it should and that I am growing to be sloppy.

Day 1 - Chest & Back
Uhm, ya, so, I have absolutely no upper body strength. If I was in a life of death situation which required me to pull myself up or out - I would be dead, hands down, no questions asked. Push ups? Holy crap! I can do about 10 before my hands collapse. On a brighter note, I slowly but surely completed the entire hour at a struggling, slow but determined and motivated pace. Also, I realized that I am good at starting the lawn mower at 10lbs per hand - woo hoo!

I will randomly keep you guys posted on my progress.

I <3 Tony Horton!

Best SPARKLY nail polish ever!

I own a lot of different sparkly nail polish brands but always found that the coverage was too sheer. There was always more clear nailpolish than sparkles when applied to the nail.

While I was shopping at Sephora last week, I had purchased Nails Inc. London for $11.50 and it was probably the best $11.50 I've spent on a bottle of nail polish. I only had to apply 2 normal coats and was able to get a beautiful full covered sparkly nail effortlessly.

Love, love, love.

Sparkle.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Did it. I am glad that it is over however, I wish that I did this in my younger years. Like everything I do, I always put up a strong facade and then get scared on the day off. I had requested to be on laughing gas because they are no longer allowed to knock you out unless the extraction is performed in a hospital in where a certified anesthesiologist has to be present.

Extraction Experience:
My first time on laughing gas and all I have to say is.... wowza!! Super loopy, super cool and super calm. I had 14 needles pierced into my gums to numb my entire mouth and tongue. I kept my eyes closed for the procedure, it helped me stay calm. Although I couldn't feel any pain I could hear all the tools banging and extreme pressure of the tooth being ripped out from its root. 10 minutes - yup, that is how long it took to extract 4 giant wisdom teeth for a lovely invoice of $1,500. Imagine that?! (thank goodness for dental insurance)

I didn't have to get my top wisdom teeth removed but because they had cavities I had decided to take them out - they were already full grown and not causing me any pain or discomfort. My bottom wisdom teeth on the other hand were causing me pain and had just began tearing through my gums in a slanted position which would in turn eventually caused my teeth to shift. To remove these bad boys, required a drill and some heavy duty tools - my bottom teeth definitely made the dentist work for his money. By the end of the extraction procedure I somehow managed to kick both of my boots off and was barefooted.

Post Extraction:
Mouth totally numb with gauze on both sides - frozen more than ever. At this point I could not even speak because the freezing in my mouth was at its maximum. In my head I envisioned my mouth to look like this.. bottom lip drooping down with my bottom gums and teeth fully exposed. Silly, but hey I could not feel my mouth at all so how was I to know what it was doing. When I looked in the mirror I surprisingly looked normal.

When I got home I was nursed by my girlfriends - 1 is pre-med so that helped because she changed my gauze pads in my mouth every 30 minutes without being grossed out by blood or my mouth (haha). I had to keep my head in an upright position which I so miserably failed doing so I consistently was drooling blood all over my sweat pants, sweater, the floor and my pillow. A bib would have came in handy. The bleeding stopped after 6-7 hours and my face was now swollen like I took a good beating but I was just relieved to get that disgusting gauze out of my mouth which I was consistently gagging on. The freezing also subsided after 7-8 hours and I was happy to be able to feel my mouth and control it again (minus the pain). LOL at my picture.

As for the meds, I was on Tylenol 3 and Naproxen and again... wowza!!! It literally make all the pain go away. I guess I could not kind of understand how and why people get addicted to pain killer meds (can not say I totally blame them, especially if one encountered a traumatic event or childhood - but this obviously not an excuse).

I did not consume any food or brushed my teeth for the first 24 hours. Thereafter, day 1 and 2 I was only able to consume Jell-O and soup with no spices which made me very upset. Day 3 and 4 I was eating mushy rice and light curry. Day 5 and on I was back in business - I stayed away from hard, crunchy, chewy foods because the area was still sore but I was consuming everything else slowly but surely. In addition, it is very difficult to fully open your mouth so I had to use the little baby spoon to it could fit in the small opening of my mouth. The best part of this experience was that my parents were treating me like I just had my legs amputated and could not get out of bed. I am not allowed to bring food into my bedroom but I had breakfast, lunch and dinner served in bed. It was cute!

Having the extraction done on December 27th, 2012 meant a sober New Years Eve for me. I could not consume alcohol because it would have induced bleeding in my gums and also because I could not combine it with the T3. I was responsible, yay!

The only thing I really hated about the first week was that after every meal I would have to rinse with salt water and fill up this syringe they provide with the salt water and spray it in every hole to rinse out any food particles that are stuck. It is always gross to see chewed up food come back out. But hey, this worked in keeping the area cleaning and preventing infection (dry socket). Yup, I googled the potential infections and gave myself the symptoms - mind over matter. my mind lost.

There you have it. I have heard some horror stories from some real bad wisdom teeth removal experiences and consider myself lucky. Currently still healing and I can feel the holes healing and closing up - maybe 2 more weeks to go. If you do not need your wisdom teeth removed I would not recommend taking them out. The dentist will trick you to take your money and they are very persistent and can be extremely convincing.

Happy Smile!

Happy New Year 2013

And a new year once again begins... A Happy Belated New Year to everyone!!! May all your dreams and wishes become reality and may this year be better than the last.

Has everyone made new years resolutions? Me, personally, this year I did not make any resolutions. Why? Well... mostly because why should I? I only make resolutions because it is a new year? If you want to achieve something or change something, you should do so when you come to realization and decide that it is time for change. Every new year along with millions of other people my one resolution is to get physically fit. Gym memberships thrive, people get locked into contracts with hopes that this year will be different. I am sorry to say, change only happens with great determination and motivation and only if you truly want it. So this year I am going to attempt to achieve my goals as I am ready to commit  to some of them fully (I hope). It is easy to lose sight and become distracted because of course this is always the simpler way out.

Hope everyone achieves the unattainable and prospers. I also hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve/day because I know I was able to spend it with people that matter to me (sober, but hey there is always a first time for everything). Good Luck!! xo
