Tanda Zap Review

There was a good deal on TeamBuy for this contraption that is supposed to expedite the healing of those gorgeous pimples that ruin your life. Tanda Zap is a small device that fits easily into your purse and all you have to do is push a button to where a blue light will illuminate and the machine will start vibrating. You simply place this device over your pimple (ensure your face is without makeup and clean) until the vibration stops - each session lasts for about 2 whole minutes. Each Tanda Zap device is equipped to zap 1000 times and retails at $49.

PROS
*it assists in the pimple coming to a head (so if a normal pimple would take 1 week to come to a head, if you use the zapper, it can come to a head in 2-3 days - this is my experience with those stubborn pimples)
*does not dry out skin
*compact and easy to carry

CONS
*battery dies very quickly
*leaves temporary indents on your face from holding the device pressed against your face
*you have to use the zapper at least 3-4 times a day to see an kind of result

Overall, I am unsure to if I would repurchase this item. I get the random pimple here and there and sometimes I get more than 1 at a time (in where this device comes in handy).
Has anyone else tried this product? If so, what are your thoughts/reviews?

Makeup Forever Concealer

This is by far the best and fullest coverage concealer I've ever used. The consistency is a bit sticky (which means it lasts longer) and it is also waterproof. The only downside of this product is that it dries very quickly not allowing you to take the time to work with it - you have to be quick with the application.

I find that most concealers only provide select coverage. I also like the packaging of this concealer because it is waste proof. I mostly need it for the scarring I get from the occasional pimples because I do not have the will power to keep my hands off my face. It is also great for hiding the redness from fresh pimples. However, I would not recommend using this product under your eyes because it is to thick and will look cakey any not natural. Also, when the concealer is applied with a concealer brush the coverage is unreal.

Highly recommended. The colour that I use is # 10. You can purchase it at Sephora - it is a bit pricey at $32 but like they say, a little goes a long way.

Happy Republic Day, India!

In India, Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950. -Wikipedia
India achieved independence from British rule on 15 August 1947 following the Indian independence movement noted for largely peaceful nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience led by the Indian National Congress. The independence came through the Indian Independence Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c. 30), an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent Dominions of the British Commonwealth (later Commonwealth of Nations): India and Pakistan.[2] India obtained its independence on 15 August 1947 as a constitutional monarchy with George VI as head of state and the Earl Mountbatten as governor-general. The country, though, did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935. On 28 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Dr.B. R. Ambedkar as chairman. While India's Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution.
A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Assembly on 4 November 1947. The Assembly met, in sessions open to public, for 166 days, spread over a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days before adopting the Constitution. After many deliberations and some modifications, the 308 members of the Assembly signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later, it came into effect throughout the nation.

Shoe Rack

With my endless boxes and mini shoe racks filled with shoes all around the house it has been difficult to locate the pair of shoes I want to wear that day. My dad is also fed up with me leaving my shoes in the front entrance of the house. By the end of the week, at least a minimum of 5 pairs have compiled - so he continues to throw them into random boxes and puts them in the garage, closet or basement.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a shoe rack that fits up to 50 pairs of shoes for $24.99 in the color pink from Beyond The Rack. When I received it, I severely struggled to put it together, to a point where I called the company and told them it was warped and I wanted to return it. It turns out that I was just physically incapable - Shocker! I then got my little brother to put it together and... VOILA!!! there it was, standing in front of me. It obviously was not a solid shoe rack (what can you possibly expect for $25) but it will suffice. I got almost more than half of my shoes on the rack and it let me see which colors I need to work on purchasing (haha).

Any who enough of my chattering. This is what the rack looks like... It is missing 2 shoes right now because the 2 pairs that I want to put in those empty spots - I can not conveniently find. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of my shoes? Wah!

P90X - Day 1

So after almost 7-8 months of wanting to start P90X and after owning it for almost 5-6 months, I finally grew some balls (and a gut) and began. My current physical level of activity and lifestyle is sedentary, which is so pathetic. I feel like my heart is slowing aging faster than it should and that I am growing to be sloppy.

Day 1 - Chest & Back
Uhm, ya, so, I have absolutely no upper body strength. If I was in a life of death situation which required me to pull myself up or out - I would be dead, hands down, no questions asked. Push ups? Holy crap! I can do about 10 before my hands collapse. On a brighter note, I slowly but surely completed the entire hour at a struggling, slow but determined and motivated pace. Also, I realized that I am good at starting the lawn mower at 10lbs per hand - woo hoo!

I will randomly keep you guys posted on my progress.

Best SPARKLY nail polish ever!

I own a lot of different sparkly nail polish brands but always found that the coverage was too sheer. There was always more clear nailpolish than sparkles when applied to the nail.

While I was shopping at Sephora last week, I had purchased Nails Inc. London for $11.50 and it was probably the best $11.50 I've spent on a bottle of nail polish. I only had to apply 2 normal coats and was able to get a beautiful full covered sparkly nail effortlessly.

Love, love, love.

Sparkle.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Did it. I am glad that it is over however, I wish that I did this in my younger years. Like everything I do, I always put up a strong facade and then get scared on the day off. I had requested to be on laughing gas because they are no longer allowed to knock you out unless the extraction is performed in a hospital in where a certified anesthesiologist has to be present.

Extraction Experience:
My first time on laughing gas and all I have to say is.... wowza!! Super loopy, super cool and super calm. I had 14 needles pierced into my gums to numb my entire mouth and tongue. I kept my eyes closed for the procedure, it helped me stay calm. Although I couldn't feel any pain I could hear all the tools banging and extreme pressure of the tooth being ripped out from its root. 10 minutes - yup, that is how long it took to extract 4 giant wisdom teeth for a lovely invoice of $1,500. Imagine that?! (thank goodness for dental insurance)

I didn't have to get my top wisdom teeth removed but because they had cavities I had decided to take them out - they were already full grown and not causing me any pain or discomfort. My bottom wisdom teeth on the other hand were causing me pain and had just began tearing through my gums in a slanted position which would in turn eventually caused my teeth to shift. To remove these bad boys, required a drill and some heavy duty tools - my bottom teeth definitely made the dentist work for his money. By the end of the extraction procedure I somehow managed to kick both of my boots off and was barefooted.

Post Extraction:
Mouth totally numb with gauze on both sides - frozen more than ever. At this point I could not even speak because the freezing in my mouth was at its maximum. In my head I envisioned my mouth to look like this.. bottom lip drooping down with my bottom gums and teeth fully exposed. Silly, but hey I could not feel my mouth at all so how was I to know what it was doing. When I looked in the mirror I surprisingly looked normal.

When I got home I was nursed by my girlfriends - 1 is pre-med so that helped because she changed my gauze pads in my mouth every 30 minutes without being grossed out by blood or my mouth (haha). I had to keep my head in an upright position which I so miserably failed doing so I consistently was drooling blood all over my sweat pants, sweater, the floor and my pillow. A bib would have came in handy. The bleeding stopped after 6-7 hours and my face was now swollen like I took a good beating but I was just relieved to get that disgusting gauze out of my mouth which I was consistently gagging on. The freezing also subsided after 7-8 hours and I was happy to be able to feel my mouth and control it again (minus the pain). LOL at my picture.

As for the meds, I was on Tylenol 3 and Naproxen and again... wowza!!! It literally make all the pain go away. I guess I could not kind of understand how and why people get addicted to pain killer meds (can not say I totally blame them, especially if one encountered a traumatic event or childhood - but this obviously not an excuse).

I did not consume any food or brushed my teeth for the first 24 hours. Thereafter, day 1 and 2 I was only able to consume Jell-O and soup with no spices which made me very upset. Day 3 and 4 I was eating mushy rice and light curry. Day 5 and on I was back in business - I stayed away from hard, crunchy, chewy foods because the area was still sore but I was consuming everything else slowly but surely. In addition, it is very difficult to fully open your mouth so I had to use the little baby spoon to it could fit in the small opening of my mouth. The best part of this experience was that my parents were treating me like I just had my legs amputated and could not get out of bed. I am not allowed to bring food into my bedroom but I had breakfast, lunch and dinner served in bed. It was cute!

Having the extraction done on December 27th, 2012 meant a sober New Years Eve for me. I could not consume alcohol because it would have induced bleeding in my gums and also because I could not combine it with the T3. I was responsible, yay!

The only thing I really hated about the first week was that after every meal I would have to rinse with salt water and fill up this syringe they provide with the salt water and spray it in every hole to rinse out any food particles that are stuck. It is always gross to see chewed up food come back out. But hey, this worked in keeping the area cleaning and preventing infection (dry socket). Yup, I googled the potential infections and gave myself the symptoms - mind over matter. my mind lost.

There you have it. I have heard some horror stories from some real bad wisdom teeth removal experiences and consider myself lucky. Currently still healing and I can feel the holes healing and closing up - maybe 2 more weeks to go. If you do not need your wisdom teeth removed I would not recommend taking them out. The dentist will trick you to take your money and they are very persistent and can be extremely convincing.

Happy Smile!

Happy New Year 2013

And a new year once again begins... A Happy Belated New Year to everyone!!! May all your dreams and wishes become reality and may this year be better than the last.

Has everyone made new years resolutions? Me, personally, this year I did not make any resolutions. Why? Well... mostly because why should I? I only make resolutions because it is a new year? If you want to achieve something or change something, you should do so when you come to realization and decide that it is time for change. Every new year along with millions of other people my one resolution is to get physically fit. Gym memberships thrive, people get locked into contracts with hopes that this year will be different. I am sorry to say, change only happens with great determination and motivation and only if you truly want it. So this year I am going to attempt to achieve my goals as I am ready to commit  to some of them fully (I hope). It is easy to lose sight and become distracted because of course this is always the simpler way out.

Hope everyone achieves the unattainable and prospers. I also hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve/day because I know I was able to spend it with people that matter to me (sober, but hey there is always a first time for everything). Good Luck!! xo
