I have got half way through this book and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I love the way the author, Kathryn Stockett writes as how the maids would actually speak in combination with the description she so vividly portrays. It really paints a great picture in my head.The book is about African American maids working in a white household in Jackson, Mississippi during the 1960's. It is a great eye opener to slavery and how poorly the black people were treated by white people and the misconceptions about them; it is actually sad.
I would highly recommend reading this book and I am anticipating the end.
